Looks like you got your money’s worth from those pads.

BTW, the thick one is probably because it bound up in the bracket. If it is like a honda, the bracket has stainless steel clips for the pads to fit into and prevent rattling. The problem is the fit between the pad and the clip is already tight and if water gets under the clip, the rust from the bracket makes them even tighter causing it to get bound up and not move. Instead, the other pad does all the work.

What I have concluded is to prevent uneven wear it is wise the take a grinder to the tabs on the pads and loosen them up so they cannot bind in the clips.

Interesting! Im a bit confused tho, I dont think, my bracket has clips on it. This is how it looks:

The pads just slide into the bracket...There are clips on the back of the pad tho, as is probably evident from my image in the post

Your’s is a bit different than a ‘07 Honda. The Honda bracket holds both pads. Your’s look like one goes on the caliper and one on the bracked.

Regardless. L ooking at the bracket and the caliper I see no shims for the pads to slip onto. So, they must just float on the cast iron. The bottom line would be make sure the pads are nice and free as binding will cause uneven wear,.

I assume these are your rear caliper from a ‘06 Mini.

No, mine is different than that. The rear caliper does not hold onto the pads at all, they float on the bracket.

I have put some silicon grease on it, they are quite free now. I cleaned the brake quiet from the bracket as well...
